Bruce Schneier is a world renowned cryptography and network security expert. He’s also writes within his area of expertise and his latest book, Beyond Fear, takes a critical look at not just the threats to our security but the ways in which we’re encouraged to think about security issues.

This podcast (available at IT Conversations) is a great insight into Bruce’s thoughts about post-9/11 security and well worth a listen. My favourite snippets from the podcast are …

“If the goal of security is to protect against yesterday’s attacks, we’re really good at it.”

“More people are killed every year by pigs than by sharks, which shows you how good we are at evaluating risk.”
