High Security Password Generator

If you want to generate a random password I recommend you check out Steve Gibson’s Ultra High Security Password Generator. As with everything at GRC – Steve’s done it properly. The page automatically connects via SSL (i.e. it uses https, a secure connection). This has two advantages; it’s encrypted so that it can’t be intercepted by a third party; and, it can’t be cached meaning that it won’t be stored and available to be viewed by someone else.

It’s about as random as you can get. Steve talks about this in episode 14 of his Security Now podcast with Leo Laporte. You can append any of the following to www.grc.com/

  • pass
  • password
  • passwords

making it easy to remember (and find). If you’re restricted in the number of characters you can use just use a section, or chunk, of the password generated.

Thanks Steve, nice job.
